I had to visit Austin last week for business, which happens every once in a while since my main client is there. It also gave me a chance to see Kid #1 and his fiance (Kid #1.5?) and Kid #2. It was booked kind of last minute, but I was able to get a room using my Hyatt points and was upgraded to a Sweet Suite at the Hyatt Regency on Lady Bird Lake.

Read MoreOne of our favorite things to do while on any of the Hawaiian islands is to go snorkeling, either from the beach or by boat. From Maui, you have access to the Molokini Crater, which is one of only three volcanic calderas in the world.
Read MoreLast summer, to celebrate Kid #3’s high school graduation, my family spent a week on Maui. And by family, I mean 14 of us – my parents, my siblings, their kids, my kids….you get the picture. Traveling with family in such a large group is not for the faint of heart. Let’s just say I needed a vacation from that vacation and we’ll leave it at that.
