Kid #3 and I were able to head to Disneyland while she was on Spring Break from the University of Mississippi. The weather was perfect and the crowds were out in droves, but we had a wonderful time on our short trip. Despite the crowds, we were able to ride all of the rides we wanted to ride and also had time to meet some Princesses!
The Grand Californian
We stayed at the Grand Californian, which is just starting to go through a huge update throughout the hotel. This means all the rooms, the lobby, the pool, and the concierge lounge will be refurbished, and in my opinion, could not happen soon enough. We choose this hotel mainly for the location; it has an entrance directly into California Adventure that is super handy. In the past few years, we have felt that the rooms have had a bit too much wear and tear despite our paying top dollar for our stay. If you want to see pictures of the plans for refurbishment, go here.
If you are planning on going to Disneyland during Spring Break, I highly recommend making some lunch and/or dinner reservations for your trip. I’ll review our meals, but we ate at Tortilla Jo’s, Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe, Ariel’s Grotto and the World of Color Dessert Party. The Food and Wine Festival had just started, which reflected California specialties.
We had an amazing and busy time at Disneyland this year and can’t wait to start planning our next trip!

Behind the scenes, along with Gariele over at Dreamworthy Design, I have been working hard to create a website that’s calm, easy to use and very different than anything I’ve had in the past. This site now features my photography, which I love, while…
My husband and I were able to cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas last fall. We were having trouble getting our schedules to line up, but we made it work! Somehow, the stars were aligned in our favor to make it happen. This was our first time on this class of ship and I was really excited to check to out.
